COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP

IN THE COMMUNITIES WE SERVE

Community support and social responsibility are so vital to Indiana Trust that our strategic plan recognizes Community Relations as one of three pillars of our company’s success.

In fact, Indiana Trust has been supporting charitable organizations in the communities we serve since our company's inception more than 30 years ago.

It was important to our founders then, and it remains an important part of our company’s culture today.

Volunteerism & Board Service

We encourage employee volunteerism with organizations whose missions they feel strongly about – whether through board service, volunteer projects, or individual financial support. Leading by example, David Kibbe serves on the board of the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County, is Chair of the Chancellor’s Advisory Board at IU South Bend and is President of the boards of both Hope Ministries and the IUSB Arts Foundation.

Major Gifts

To say the pandemic has had an extraordinary effect on communities throughout the globe would be an understatement. In December of 2020, Indiana Trust gave a total of $50,000 to area food banks in Northern and East Central Indiana – specifically the Food Bank of Northern Indiana in Mishawaka and Second Harvest Food Bank in Muncie.

Major Sponsorships

We also believe excellence in stewardship includes support of the arts and local school systems, in addition to humanitarian and social service organizations.

As such, Indiana Trust is the Pops Series title sponsor for the South Bend Symphony Orchestra and has a five-year founding member partnership with the South Bend Education Foundation.

Nonprofit Spotlight Program

The Indiana Trust Nonprofit Spotlight program, which was launched in January of 2021 and ran through December of 2023, consists of recognizing, rewarding, and promoting a nonprofit organization in one or more of our company’s footprint areas on a monthly basis, as a way to highlight various nonprofit organizations throughout the year and bring attention to the good work being done in the communities they serve.

Each Nonprofit Spotlight organization receives a $1,000 corporate donation, publicity (via the Indiana Trust web blog, email, and social media posts), and they're also eligible for employee gift-matching throughout the year.

As a majority employee-owned company, matching our employees’ contributions is an opportunity for Indiana Trust to support local nonprofits whose missions connect with our employees.

The results of some of our corporate efforts were recognized in 2021, when Indiana Trust was presented with the Company of the Year award by the YWCA of North Central Indiana at their annual "Tribute" gala.
